Australian TradeLinks Australian Papua New Guinea Business Council
Established in 1980, the Australia Papua New Guinea Business Council promotes trade and investment between Australia and Papua New Guinea and economic growth in Papua New Guinea through business growth, communicates business issues to the Australian and Papua New Guinea Governments through formal mechanisms such as the Australia Papua New Guinea Ministerial Forum and the associated Bilateral Business and Officials Working Group, and acts as a centre for networking and information for Australian business with interests in Papua New Guinea.
The Council’s principal business promotion event held annually is the Australia Papua New Guinea Business Forum which alternates between Australia and Papua New Guinea. The next Australia Papua New Guinea Business Forum will be held in Cairns from 18 to 20 May 2014. The most recent Forum was held in Port Moresby in April 2013.
The Council is a membership based organisation. Membership is open to businesses with interests in the Australia Papua New Guinea bilateral business relationship.
